What’s in a name?
It’s something people often ask us.

The name Podplan is inspired by the way orca whales live.
Orcas move through life in family pods. They stay connected across generations, and when it matters, they come back together. Adult orcas will travel vast distances just to return to their pod. That’s where our name found its inspiration.
Later life tends to work the same way. Decisions are rarely made alone. Partners, children, and wider family naturally become involved — sometimes slowly, sometimes all at once. Care is rarely the problem. What’s missing is a shared place to get organised.
That’s where the “plan” comes in.
Planning ahead gives people time. Time to understand what’s coming, to talk things through, and to make decisions without pressure. When families have structure early, things feel calmer. Conversations are easier. Choices are clearer.
Podplan brings those two ideas together. A name rooted in family, planning, and a little inspiration from the ocean’s most loyal travellers.
